Icebarcelona is the perfect place to go and relax if the heat of the Barcelona beaches is too much for you. -5 degrees Celsius will definitely convince you to move just a couple of feet off the sand to cool down.
In 2007, Icebarcelona opened its doors to the general public to become the first ice bar by the beach. Nowadays it is a curious place to go and is well known among tourists and locals. The ice room was decorated by international renowned artists that carved the room in style and gave it special light features and ice sculptures that are changed at least twice a year.
Although it is not very recommendable to go in a pair of sandals, the bar provides a coat and gloves so you can stand the cold for at least 45 minutes, which is the average time guests stay in for, and enjoy their cocktail. All drinks that are served inside the ice bar have no gas except beer; remember you’ll be drinking out of an ice glass!
If you do get fed up of the cold, remember there is also a terrace where you can rediscover the Catalan sun after freezing inside.
Just one quick tip: remember to book in advance if you’re planning to go in August, on weekend nights and if a party of more than five of you wants to go in at the same time, because queues can get pretty long some days, you could be waiting for more than twenty minutes.
If you are a client of EspaiBarcelona you’ll get a special discount for Icebarcelona.
